30/1/08 Training is on tonight (Wednesday) at 7pm.

29/1/08 Dissappointing news folks - it looks like Sunday v Hertford will have to be postponed. Their league match v Saracens was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, and this Sunday is the league's preferred replay date (ie they dont have much choice). As with last week we will try to get another game, but it is v. difficult at short notice, so it could be specialist training on Sunday instead

28/1/08 See Johns notes below about the Mums Cup and a change in training night PLUS Duke of Edinburgh - we need to know now if we are losing lots of you for the Ruislip game

26/1/08 Finchley have cancelled their game(s) against us this Sunday. We will run a technical training session and fun game starting at 10.30am on Sunday

16/1/08 Tonight technical team talk re Sunday from 7 till 8 in the clubhouse - pitches are out of bounds, no one can play on them

14/1/08 See coaches corner below

9/11/07 Training on Sunday starts at 10.15am. Our Captain sends this note to everyone ""hey guys its James Reilly, just thought i would let everyone know (who i didn't personally tell before now) that I won't be at training on Sunday due to me doing a CBT course so that I can ride my moped on the road. I still expect people to be putting in all there effort in training on to prove a point like what was said in the changing room. I will make it up to you on Wednesday."

5/11/07 See Coaches Corner re the need to be at training at 7pm prompt on Wednesday night

5/11/07 Staines photos aren't loading properly - I am awaiting technical support - SEE FLIKR SET BY CLICKING BUTTON ON THE RIGHT AS A TEMPORARY FIX

1/11/07 Last night the coaches and managers reviewed the number of players available for Sunday's two league games. We have a squad of 32, but that includes 3 long term injuries and 5/6 players who's commitment cannot be relied upon. To cut a long story short we could only guarantee to send 8 players to the Watford divison 4 game. Given that recruitment for the year has now all but finished, we have withdrawn from Div 4 and will now concentrate on gaining promotion with the first team. We will arrange a number of additional friendly matches (most probably against the Div 4 teams) where we will give a run out to our developing players who are on the cusp of the first team. We know this is disappointing news to a number of you, but we will do our best to continue to develop and train you and give you regular playing rugby in the non-league games. See team sheets for this Sunday's match

30/10/07 Essential training Wednesday night at 7pm for the league matches on Sunday, plus there will be a full pitch training session on Saturday from 1 till 2.30pm at WRFC

14/10/07 Barnet 5 Welwyn 28 photos now uploaded (plus new parent and player photos). Sean Khan Man of the Match. Awaiting news about Alex Harris (3.50pm still in hospital).

11/10/07 All fit players please report to the WRFC car park on Sunday at 9.30am or text Ted or Russell if you plan to go direct to Barnet for 10am warm-up. This is a friendly and we intend to give everyone a run-out and possibly try out some players in relatively new positions. We will NEED DRIVERS to make sure that we can get everyone to the game. Keith will manage the team (John is away)

11/10/07 Russell is negotiating a replay date for the Twickenham re-match, most likely it will be 2nd December

7/10/07 Twickers photos added. Their caoch has said "“Congratulate your forwards from me as they completely outplayed my lot and that is normally our strength.”

7/1/07 Sam R latest: I've just taken Sam's bag round to his house, his Xray was clear, he has tissue and muscular damage to the neck and is taking pain killers, but will be OK with time

7/10/07 See the two match reports (drop down menu under "Fixtures") and learn about Ken Ross winning man of the match in his debut game and why the Twickers game had to be abandoned - pictures of the ambulance to follow!)

23/9/07 Superb win against Hitchin! Two phenomenal runs by Captain Fantastic led to two tries in the second half to rescue the game from 0-8 to 12-8 at the finish. See John's comments below and a page of photos

22/9/07 Warm up at 10am, match at 11am on the 3rd team pitch. Development team game has been cancelled following further injuries reported. Final team now selected - see Teams above. Daniel and Freddie - a reminder that if you can't get to a training session you need to text one of the managers

21/9/07 Provisional team sheet published (click Teams above). This may have to change once we finally know who can play after Saturday's technical training session (to which all fit players should attend)

21/9/07 With 7 players out at the moment it looks increasingly unlikely that we will be able to field a development team against Hertford B, needing some replacements for the first team game against Hitchin. With some new players having joined recently we want to play a development side as soon as we can and so are working on the issue. Don't forget Saturday 1 till 2.30pm technical training (very limited fitness work and little contact due to the game on Sunday)....after which you'll be able to watch the WRFC 1st team or the England Samoa game on the big screen

10/9/07 Don't forget to encourage your friends to come to the trials this Wednesday at 7pm. With Alex (a county player ex Barnet) registering on Sunday we're getting much closer to being able to run two teams, but we still need a few extra players before the season starts for real on the 23rd Sept

18/6/08 Keith writes: Most of you will have finished or be on your last week of GCSE’s, I hope all went well and you can look forward to a nice long 10 week break. Summer training starts next week 25th, please can you make sure you bring your own water and suitable foot wear for the ground condition e.g. trainers or moulded studs.

We are aiming to start at 19:00 sharp; this will mean that you will need to be at the club for 18:45 to carry out an individual stretch. At the beginning of every session you will be taking a fitness test, which will last about 15 mins, your results will be recorded, which will enable us to track your fitness levels through the summer. FITNESS is your responsibility e.g. running and gym, if you require a fitness program please speak to Sal or me at the end of any training session. The majority of the training in the first four sessions will be skills based fitness also core excises aimed for individual positions. Please if you are unable to attend any sessions due to holiday, let Ted or Russell know either by text or via the web site, this will allow us to base training around availability.

Look forward to see you all. Keith

18/5/08 Keith, Sal, Flinty and Lee will be running coaching sessions over the summer holidays on Wednesday evenings at 7pm starting on June 25th (after the GCSEs)

Every match we ask one of the players to take the kit after the game, wash it (at home or in the local laundry) and return it to the coaches, as soon as you have taken your turn you get your name up in lights on the website! Volunteer soon!
